Zah-roche soon began to analyze this man as they traveled through at tunnel which seemed to be created by a beam of light. Maybe this man was lying to him. After all the Silverhollows are the most advanced house within the city. Silverhollow has never made any device the proved to be useless or create something they can’t utilize or control. Either way Zah-roche’s decision was made he would now have to participate in the Pit Arena.
Z: (Well there’s no going back. Hopefully I wont have to kill anyone just to get to Arianna. I can’t let my guard down with this guy. I got to focus on one thing at a time.)
SM: “Well now… prove yourself to Silverhollow. You will be joining the next match. If you are what we think you are, then this shouldn’t be a problem for you. We need you to succeed. There is no one else we can go to.”
Z: “Huh… I’ll do what I can.”
Zah-roche and the Silver Mage appeared deep in the chambers of the pit arena. If Silverhollow is able to create underground transportation throughout the city, then it is likely that Silverhollow could easily spy on anyone they pleased. This made it even harder for Zah-roche to believe the mage. The announcer walked into the ring and was about to introduce the next match. The crowd began to go wild. Zah-roche continued down the chamber and the crowds voice began to echo louder and louder as he continued to walk towards the cell door that held contestants before they entered the match. Here Zah-roche will witness the first Pit Arena match he had ever seen.

Zah-roche stood watching as the two hybrids emerged from their cells. The stench of blood and guts filled the air. Zah-roche’s stomach turned. For a second it seemed as if Zah-roche was going to throw up, but instead stood back up to watch the battle commence. First to emerge was a rabbit hybrid; with medium height, long arms and ears, with thick thighs. The shackles that bound him fell to the ground, his arms dangled, and his head slowly rose to see his competitor. Last to emerge was some kind of giant gator hybrid. From the looks of things Zah-roche could tell that it had undergone some sort of mutation. It was larger than what he had expected. It’s head was as large as to people, it stood be over 7ft, its body was very muscular and its skin rigged, and its tail extended out and reached around 6ft long. Zah-roche’s eyes widened as well as the rabbit hybrid’s. Not only was the gator hybrid bound, but he was also wrapped in chains held by human guards. As the chains were released, the gator went berserk it’s massive claws swung ripping through the bodies of the guards. One guard’s body was severed in half; his upper half was sent flying towards the wall of the arena as his entrails poured onto the ground. Another guard was snapped in half by the gators tight muscular jaws. Blood poured from the gator’s mouth as the guards body fell to the ground. Luckily one guard was knocked unconscious will another managed to escape. Cries could be heard from the crowed, which evolved to cheering. Zah-roche noticed the ruthless intent the humans imposed on the hybrids. The rabbit seem to feel no fear as it took an offensive position. Before the rabbit attacked he blurted something out.
R: “No matter what happens to me I will get my freedom back!”
The rabbit had leapt high into the air and the gator began to crawl his way at extreme speeds; his tongue hanging out as it continues to roar and growl. The rabbit came down with a thundering kick, but was blocked when the gator raised its arm. Zah-roche could feel the impact from where he stood. If the gator was an average hybrid it’s arm would have snapped off. The rabbit quickly rebounded from the gator’s arm and returned with an almost instantaneous round kick to the gator’s snout. This too seemed to have no effect on the gator. The gator reached out and grabbed it’s leg, it raised it’s arm above it’s head and brought it down, slamming the rabbit into the ground. The rabbit seemed to go limp and the gator raised his body up. It then through the rabbit into the air and opened its jaws and snapped down on rabbit. Blood sprayed everywhere. Zah-roche was shocked at what he had seen. He began to clench his fist, angry at himself. He stood there and waited for his turn in the arena to get closer to Arianna, allowing the rabbit hybrid to die horribly.
The rabbits body was consumed by the gator as it’s head fell to the ground. After the gator gulped down it’s food, it stepped forward crushing the rabbits head in the process. A crunching sound emanated from the arena and echoed within the audiences ears. Blood and brain matter slowly oozed from beneath the gators foot.
SilverMage: “Now you’re up. This is your only chance to back out. So what will it be.”
Z: “I’ll fight.”
Zah-roche spoke with a rough tone as if he were teetering along the edge of good and evil.
SM: They will allow you to use any weapon. The crowd doesn’t want to be bored with another fight like that one.
Z: Hmm… I’m good just allow me to use whatever it is in my bag as my weapon of choice.
SM: As you wish.
The announcer began to introduce the next contestant.
“Now with no further adieu welcome our next new comer. The mysterious ZAH’ROCHE!!!”
The gates raised and Zah-roche began to walk into the arena. The crowd began to laugh as Zah-roche appeared.
Crowd: “What an idiot. Are you telling me a human is going to face this monstrous beast, what a joke.” “Yeah, this better be a good fight or I want my money back.”
Zah-roche had already removed a few things from his bag and held them gently in his hand. With his head held down, Zah-roche began to remove the hood of his cloak and looked up to the wild gator.
When the gator roared at him, Zah-roche didn’t move an inch.

The gator charged towards him, saliva dripping from his mouth. It’s claws ripped through the ground beneath it as it quickly approached Zah-roche. The gator opened its mouth and turned it’s head. Zah-roche watched as the gator jaws were ready to snap, and quickly leapt out of the way. Much to his surprise the gator had already turned towards him to attack once more as it’s mouth clamped shut. Zah-roche was defenseless as the gator leapt towards him to bite down on him. All Zah-roche could do was to keep the gator from tearing into his body by holding his mouth open. The gators jaws were massive; it’s razor sharp teeth began to tear through Zah-roche’s shoulder as his legs pressed down on it’s lower jaw and his arms raised to keep the gator from eating him.
Even Zah-roche began to feel desperate. This modified hybrid proved to be too strong. Zah-roche began to doubt whether he had made the right decision to come here. The crowd as well thought that Zah-roche was done for. The match was about to end even quicker than the rabbit hybrid. Zah-roche’s teeth began to clench as a tried to open the gators mouth enough to escape.
Z: “Rrgg…huf…huf…Rrrraaaaagggghhhhh!!!”
Zah-roche’s eyes glistened as he began to open it’s jaws. Zah-roche had opened the gators mouth enough to jump out. Zah-roche dashed through the air and landed firmly, but dropped to his knee. Blood began to drain down his arm and he watched for the gators next approach. When he realized the gator would rush in recklessly again he quickly took some herbs and berries from his bag, crushed them into his hand, and rubbed it onto his wound. The effect appeared to have given him complete mobility of his arm. When the gator rushed towards him again, even faster than before. Zah-roche pulled yet another substance from his bag and as the gator neared he leapt backwards tossing a powdered substance into the gator’s eyes and the gator snapped at him; unable to see it’s prey.
The crowd had no clue what Zah-roche was doing, and many of them became enraged as they thought Zah-roche was cheating for using whatever it was he brought with him. Many of them were on the edge of their seats as almost everyone their had bets on the match.
The gator seemed to have enhanced sensitivity as it’s eyes became puffy and filled with tears. Zah-roche took this time of vulnerability to attack. Zah-roche leapt into the air once again slamming his fist into the gator’s snout. He then flipped backwards towards the head of the gator and came down with his knee. Zah-roche slowly jumped from it’s head and walked a few steps from the gator.
The crowd went silent. Some crumbled on the inside as they lost their money, others simply pissed at the fact they lost their bets, while others had no care in the world as money met nothing to them.
Crowd1: “Damn how could I lose!” slamming his ticket to the ground. Crowd2: “My money… I have nothing left…My…my wife is going to kill me.” Crowd3: “Rraagghh THIS SHIT WAS RIGGED!”
As the crowd became more intense, Zah-roche walked towards the Silver Mage that had brought him there. As Zah-roche began to speak he had flinched in pain.
Z: “Now… it’s time that you honored your word.” SM: “Yes, she will be very pleased with your results. Right this way.”
Zah-roche had begun to show signs of side-effects from the substance he applied to his wound. By combining herbs and berries he created a quick numbing and regenerative mixture, but as fast as it healed the pain would return much quicker and much harsher. It seemed to be true for whatever he used on the gator. By applying a certain herb to a liquid or crushed berry, Zah-roche could create a quick drying powder which he used to create a temporary allergic reaction, as well as putting the subject to sleep; worst case a coma.
SM: “So…how exactly did you recover so quickly.” Z: “It’s something I whipped up myself.”
Zah-roche told him little about what he used and the effects of the mixtures.
SM: “So why don’t you just take something else to make the pain go away.”
Z: “It’s not that simple. Most of these mixtures have harsh side-effects. Its not something you want to deal with if you have the chance. Even worse if you continue to use this stuff it can create a huge addiction which would lead to death in a matter of weeks. Though…I’ll have to deal with this pain for awhile, but natural recovery can sometime be for the best.”
SM: “Well said. Here we are now. This route shall take us to Arianna.”
Zah-roche and the Silver Mage had continued walking through the catacombs of the Pit Arena. No telling what happened after they had left, but the crowd surely would be unpleased at the outcome of the match. They had soon came to what appeared to be an underground train. Zah-roche wasn’t surprised he was to concerned with meeting Ariannna. It was dark, lit only by flames. The darkness seemed to extend into the distance.
SM: “This will be taking us to Arianna.”
Z: “Why underground?”
SM: “If the hybrids or other houses were aware of this device they would surely use it to win this war.”
Z: “Hmm. I’m ready to talk with her now.”
SM: (“She too is dying to meet you.”)
After Zah-roche’s match with the gator, the Silver Mage and Zah-roche set off on an underground train to meet the well known head of Silverhollow, Mistress Arianna.
