{A forgotten newspaper lies on a dilapidated table, covered in dust next to a series of faded photographs. The room is alight with the musty scent of history and at the table, an old woman sits hunched over, garbed in a tattered gray cloak with the hood pulled over her head. Only her lips are visible, and from within the confines of her hood, the shadows seem eerily red.
"Ah," she murmurs, her croaking voice oddly deep and tinged with something akin to sinister amusement, "Well, you are indeed lucky, aren't you?" A hacking laugh slides from the woman's throat and she shakes her head, hands trembling in the long sleeves of her cloak. "Worry not, friend, I'll tell you the information you need...."}

3042:Early Winter:
Curious to the rumors of the Silverhollow's missing heirs, Saleim Silverhollow makes his way to St. Bartleby's Orphanage where he comes upon Alphred and Matthew Jones, brothers who he believes to be the lost boys. Expressing interest in adopting the two, he leaves with his Metal-Man body guard, safe guarding the secret of the two young heirs.
Not long afterwards, metal-man Informant Xerxes comes into contact with the elder of the two brothers and after a set of trials, offers the boy a way-stone to find his way back.
At the same time as this, hybrid Rebel member Nadia Fortuna skulks the city, coming into contact with brothel guard Jax Slang and the establishment he protects, Gatto Nero. There she gains information about the members there offering safe haven to those who wish to flee the city.
The rebels attack Silverhollow, their leader, Lionel Talbot, killing a Silverhollow scientist named Dorian. Though they think themselves victorious, they are halted by the Silverhollow Head's elite group of scientists and assassins, the Silver Mages.
Unable to kill the head, the rebels slink back with a few rescued hybrids while the hybrid Metal-Man Zah-Roche finds himself in the pit rings.
Spring:
A botched experiment by the Silverhollow scientists sends a 'plague' through the city that either switches gender or age. Faced with the angry populace, the scientists quickly fix their error, though it takes longer than they'd hoped.
At the same time, in the Goldsbloom manor, something dark whispers through the halls. The Goldsbloom heir, already unstable, grows infinitely more so when he comes face to face with the information that his father plans to send his pets Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum back to the pit rings where he once bought them from. Unable to deal with the excess stress, the young heir's other side takes over and subsequently slaughters the Goldsbloom head.
Turmoil now sweeps the Goldsbloom House....
